On Tuesday morning in Charlotte County, a total of 14 individuals sustained injuries and were hospitalized following a crash on I-75. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the incident involved a single van and occurred near mile marker 155.
The crash occurred at 5:55 a.m. when the van’s left rear tire experienced a blowout, resulting in the 40-year-old male driver losing control of the vehicle. The van veered off the roadway, flipped, and rested on the shoulder. Both the driver and the 13 passengers on board suffered injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for medical attention.
Emergency vehicles blocked off the left lane of I-75 northbound to facilitate the response to the incident. The FHP is actively investigating the details surrounding the crash.
