gibson metellus killed in collision with tree

Gibson Metellus passed away after a single-car accident on the afternoon of March 3. The incident took place near 6400 West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac.

The 40-year-old was behind the wheel of a 2001 Ford F150, traveling west on the roadway when another car reportedly began approaching the lane Metellus’ car was in.

To avoid a potential collision, Metellus veered to the left suddenly and drove onto the median in the middle of the roadway. The F150 continued west and eventually slammed into a tree.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the F150 was never contacted by the aforementioned other vehicle.

Metellus was confirmed dead at the scene.
