A police vehicle was stolen during a rollover crash response in Homestead on May 20. The incident began with a rollover crash at the intersection of Northeast Eighth Street and North Homestead Boulevard.
During the investigation, 42-year-old Johnny Lott interfered with police activities, eventually stealing a police car and crashing it into a fence at JD Redd Park. He was arrested and faces charges including grand theft of a vehicle and grand theft of law enforcement equipment. Lott is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bail set at $5,500.
