An 11-year-old girl lost her life in a tragic boating accident on Lake Osborne in Palm Beach County on the evening of Nov. 2, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Preliminary findings indicate that the bow of the 20-foot pontoon boat the girl was aboard suddenly dipped, causing her to be thrown into the water. While in the water, she was struck by the boat’s propeller. Although she was quickly rescued and brought to shore, she did not survive her injuries.
At the time of the incident, the boat was carrying three minors and two adults. The relationship between those on board remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
