On the afternoon of February 26, a box truck and a semi-truck crashed into one another, leaving the 51-year-old driver of the box truck dead.
The incident occurred along SW Conners Highway. Martin County Fire Rescue believes that the box truck rear-ended the semi-truck.
CBS 12 has an image of the box truck wedged into the semi-truck.
Reports indicate the roadway was under construction, as the southbound lane was closed. Northbound traffic had been halted by a construction flagger, which is where the semi-truck was in a stopped position. The box truck did not stop its advance in time.
The driver of the semi-truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The drivers’ identities have not been released to the public at this time.
