24-year-old Gaspar Lopez Hernandez was killed, and another man is in critical condition after they were both ejected from a box truck during a crash involving an SUV.

The crash occurred Wednesday morning when an Isuzu truck heading west on East Summa Street collided with a GMC Yukon SUV driving northbound near the 7300 block of South Dixie Highway.

Police said the impact ejected the driver and passenger in the truck and neither of them were wearing seatbelts.

Both men were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where one died and the other is listed in critical condition. The victim has been identified as Gaspar Lopez Hernandez, 24, of Indiantown.

The SUV driver was not injured, and no charges are pending.
