Leonard De La Paz Ramos, driving a Mazda 2, was killed in a collision at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Kirk Road in West Palm Beach shortly after 7 a.m. on Nov. 9, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Ramos reportedly ran a red light while heading west on Southern Boulevard.
At the same time, the driver of a Ram pickup truck was making a left turn from the eastbound lane. The Mazda collided with the Ram’s front passenger side. Both drivers were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where Ramos later died. Authorities confirmed Ramos was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
The condition of the Ram driver has not yet been updated. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine if other factors contributed to the accident.
