The Boca Raton Police Department recently issued a warning of a phone scam in the area. Police said residents have received calls from people claiming to be police officers and demanding that they immediately pay a fine. According to police, scammers try to get victims to pay over the phone.
Authorities want residents to know that they will never reach out to the public in this manner, so residents should not be duped into giving out their financial information.
If you think your personal information may have been compromised, you can review the Victim Resources page on the Boca Raton Police Services website.
