two survive plunge off roosevelt bridge in stuart

A Toyota 4Runner with two occupants was sent over the edge of the Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart during the overnight hours of July 5.

The vehicle plummeted 50 feet to the ground, landing in an apartment complex’s parking lot. Remarkably, both individuals were found to be in good condition.

The incident began when a Tesla heading north on the bridge sideswiped the Toyota, sending it over the edge. According to reports, the Tesla was driven by 21-year-old Adam Alaoui, who is facing a felony traffic charge.

Residents were pleasantly surprised that no serious injuries resulted from the incident.

“My wife said she did hear a crash. We didn’t look outside to investigate, but we did see lights flashing,” said Jim Gamble, who lives in the area.
