beatrice saturne killed in wrong-way crash

A 40-year-old woman was killed, and a 3-year-old child was seriously injured in a head-on collision in Port St. Lucie on January 19. The crash occurred when a red 2023 Kia Soul, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Northeast St. James Drive, collided with a 2002 Toyota Camry near Northeast Charleston Oaks Drive.

Beatrice Saturne, a passenger in the Toyota, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries. She was transported to Lawnwood Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. A 3-year-old child in the Toyota, restrained by a seatbelt but not in a car seat, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries, while the Kia’s driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Preliminary investigations indicate that neither speed nor impairment were factors in the crash.
